Title: Addressing Alzheimer's Disease Through Risk Reduction: The Impact of Diet and Nutrition
Description:7.4 million Americans, including Over 426,000 New Yorkers are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and many more are at risk for developing it or another dementia. While emerging research continues to identify actionable strategies to reduce the risk of cognitive decline, public awareness remains limited. Many individuals are unaware of the profound influence that lifestyle choices—such as regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and effective management of chronic conditions like hypertension—can have on brain health. This workshop will focus on findings around diet and nutrition and the link to cognitive health while sharing the Association’s efforts to address this public health crisis.Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to describe the current landscape of Alzheimer's disease in New York State, including current statistics and key risk factors.2. Participants will be able to describe the impact of diet and nutrition on brain health.3. Participants will be able to identify strategies to reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
